Simon went to his first Paralympics in 1992 Barcelona playing wheelchair basketball. Since then he has competed in every consecutive Paralympics, deciding to hang up his chair internationally after Rio 2016. There are not many people out there that have been competing at the highest level for such a period of time.
He has seen the game develop a long way and he was a big part of how the game developed.
Simon continues to play professional basketball for @porta torres (https://www.facebook.com/gsdportotorres.wheelchairbasketball/) in Sardinia. His talents don’t end there, he has told us he is also a dab hand at painting and decorating!
Simon is an amputee after a decision he made as a young man with regards to a train track.
He has a great story to tell!
